Sewing Sanctuary is a custom WordPress and WooCommerce build for a UK fabric and sewing retailer: shop by the metre, wholesale trade accounts, membership patterns with scheduled downloads, and classes in one store.
Overview
Sewing Sanctuary is a UK sewing and fabric business selling cloth by the metre, classes, and digital patterns, with a growing wholesale trade alongside retail. I built a fully custom WordPress and WooCommerce website to bring their brand online and support how the shop actually runs day to day.
The site is a bespoke fabric and sewing supplies e-commerce platform, not an off-the-shelf template. Retail customers get a polished shop experience with AJAX add to cart, a slide-out cart drawer, and product layouts tuned for fabrics and courses. Wholesale B2B customers get their own menus, registration flows, and stock rules that reflect real buying in metres rather than simple single-unit products.
Membership and subscription logic is a major part of the build. WooCommerce Memberships and Subscriptions tie into custom download permissions, including drip-feed schedules so members receive pattern files on the right dates. Course products use tailored availability messaging, and fabric categories stay manageable through flexible ACF-driven settings in the admin.
Everything is edited through a clean ACF block-based CMS, with performance tweaks and ongoing theme work so the store stays fast and dependable as the catalogue, wholesale accounts, and membership plans grow.
