A full WordPress rebuild for a national youth charity. Jon worked alongside Ormiston Trust to design the website in Figma and I translated Jon's designs into a bespoke Gutenberg theme featuring 43 custom ACF blocks, replacing a Elementor site the team found difficult to manage.

Ormiston Trust is a national charity that supports young people and families through education sponsorship, youth social action, parenting programmes, and enrichment opportunities. Together with Ormiston Families and three Multi Academy Trusts, their network reaches more than 40,000 young people across the UK.
The existing website was built with Elementor. Page markup was heavy, the editor was awkward for the internal team, and front-end performance suffered from dozens of plugin scripts and bloated CSS. The charity needed a faster, more accessible platform their team could update with confidence.
Working from Jon’s Figma designs, I built a bespoke WordPress theme with 43 custom ACF Gutenberg blocks, covering programmes, grants, team profiles, the #WeWill campaign, news, and partner content, without a page builder.
Initial testing showed a leaner HTML payload and roughly 65% fewer script and stylesheet requests on the homepage, and a much cleaner editing experience for the Ormiston team.

Pixel-accurate build from Jon's Figma designs, with responsive layouts, accessible typography, and a component library that mirrors the charity's refreshed brand across every page template.
Purpose-built blocks for programmes, grants, team directories, FAQs, timelines, partner logos, and campaign landing pages so the Ormiston team can publish and update content without developer support.
Replaced Elementor page-builder output with lean, semantic theme markup. Fewer HTTP requests, smaller HTML payload, giving the charity a site built for long-term speed and maintainability.
Structured templates for impact stories, funded projects, partner organisations, the #WeWill youth campaign, and team profiles making it straightforward to showcase work that spans education, grants, and community programmes nationwide.
